Esplins Solicitors commenced operating as a full services law firm in 1989 and has prided itself on giving sound legal and commercial advice to its many and varied loyal clients. Hamish is the son of founder of Esplins Solicitors, Phillip Esplin, and has been with Esplins for over fifteen years. Hamish was made a partner of Esplins Solicitors in 2011 and is dedicated to building on the commitment and quality of work the firm has provided to clients in over 30 years. Hamish holds a Masters of Law from Sydney University and practises extensively in all aspects of commercial law including running many large and small litigation matters in the District Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in NSW as well as the NSW Consumer and Tenancy Tribunal. Hamish has also conducted many commercial transactions ranging from small business sales of $5m to large scale transactions up to $50M. He has represented both purchasers and vendors across a range of industries and can provide pre- and post-transaction tax and estate planning advice.

Hamish is adept at handling particularly difficult or novel problems which arise in the business as well as personal areas including in relation to business disputes, estate disputes, guardianship matters and property settlements. Because of his background in thoroughbred racing and breeding Hamish also has experience and knowledge in dealing with all aspects of the industry including in relation to contractual disputes, employment issues, negligence including in relation to veterinary issues, business and tax structuring advice, licensing hearings, syndication advice, and the purchase and sale of bloodstock including stallions.
